The Downtown Container Park in Las Vegas is part of the downtown revitalization effort. Funding for this unique shopping and dining experience has been done so by Zappos’ Tony Hsieh. The container park is a place that is fun for all walks and talks. The container themed property is a breath of fresh air, as you can sit outside on top of the action, literally, and enjoy an assortment of small boutiques, galleries, bars, eateries and outdoor spaces: that includes a fun and interactive play area for children, as well as a large stage for entertainment.
The downtown container experience is located at the southeast corner of Fremont and Seventh Street. The property spans approximately 19,000 square feet and is built with 30 + shipping containers and 41 modular cubes. The whole park is constructed with this theme in mind.
The site stands out as you arrive. Once there you are visually greeted by a 55-foot-tall steel praying mantis sculpture, which sets precedence for the entire site. Truly a work of art!
The children’s play area is centrally located and incorporates a three story tall container themed tree house. There are three slides one of which has an electronic screen with video themes on the inside top. There are an assortment of other features for the children play on, in and around, to include: interactive electronic games. There is a max limit of people allowed inside and has only one entry point, which is monitored by at least one staff member.
The large entertainment stage, with canopy, and an Audi video tower, is backed by a train track with a box car and caboose atop. In front of stage center is a large grass area for sitting, relaxing, or playing for the children. The stage at the downtown container park features a diverse array of entertainment including music performances, children’s programming, outdoor fitness classes, variety acts, and much more.
